Jet Reports is a product that enables users to create complex queries to NAV database and pull data directly into Excel without the need for hard-coding or programming skills, and comes with an extensive report library to use out of the box.
Jet Reports is an Excel Add-in.
An add-in is software that adds new features into Microsoft Excel. Add-ins save you time. Using an add-in helps to avoid errors and do repetitious work in minutes that could take hours manually. In the case of Jet Reports, it helps users pull data from their NAV or Business Central database into Microsoft Excel.
Jet Tab in the Excel Ribbon
The Ribbon is the strip of buttons and icons located above the work area that was first introduced with Excel 2007. The Ribbon replaces the menus and toolbars found in earlier versions of Excel. Above the Ribbon are a number of tabs, such as Home, Insert, and Page Layout. This is also where you will find the Jet tab once the Jet Reports Excel add-in has been installed and enabled.
The Jet tab is where the Jet Reports tools to create, modify and run reports are located once the Excel add-in has been installed and enabled.
